Antique FYR-FYTER 1Qt. Brass Fire Extinguisher W/Bracket **EMPTY**

Description

Antique FYR-FYTER brass 1 qt. fire extinguisher manufactured by The Fyr-Fyter Company, Dayton, Ohio. Not sure of the exact vintage but I believe it to be pre 1920's. There is no patent on it but a patent was applied for. The earliest patent date I have seen on other Fyr-Fyter extinguishers is 1916, so I'm assuming it is of that period. The last picture shows an ad from a 1919 catalog.
It
has been machine buffed, hand polished, and clear coated. The extinguisher is
EMPTY
, the handle does move in and out, and it is being sold as a collectible item only. It is in very good condition with just a small pushed in area on the base.
There are two brass labels; the main Fyr-Fyter label and a smaller Underwriters' Laboratories label. There is some minor paint loss to the larger label. See pictures for all defects. Also included is the mounting bracket. Measures approx.
