ANTIQUE MICROSCOPIC SECTION CUTTER / STRAIGHT RAZOR TYPE - LENTZ GERMANY

Description

This unique medical item at first glance appears to be a straight razor. However the tang is marked - Microscopic Section Cutter - Germany Lentz and marked on the other side C 2636. These blades were used to cut super thin slices of tissue for viewing under a microscope. The front of the blade is hollow ground and the back side is perfectly flat. The handle appears to be aluminum and is marked W.A Steel. In good condition with a good blade which is 7/8" in width. Handle has some light scratches. Measures 6 5/8" long. A unique antique medical and scientific instrument.
