    Description

Classical (years 80'), relatively high repetition frequency, pulsed xenon flashlamp to pump thin (3 mm - 5 mm dia.), relatively short Nd:YAG or Er:YAG laser rods, type INP-3/60A-1 from Russian Federation. New, never used, no original package. Plasma discharge size: 3 mm dia. x 60 mm length, ideally should match the laser rod size. Appropriate for rods with 50 mm - 70 mm in length. Outer diameter of lamp 5.6 mm. Total lamp length (with electrodes) 150 mm. The electrodes are polarized and look different, the anode has a bigger size and has a visible sign (+) on the quartz tube (right side of lamp in picture #1), while the cathode is in the left side of picture #1, and in picture #2. The following nominal parameters are estimated by extrapolation from the original data sheet of the larger internal diameter lamp INP-5/60A-1. For low repetition frequency regime, i.e., below 1 Hz, discharge energy 6 J - 48 J, no liquid cooling necessary, estimated lifetime 4 x 10
    5
pulses, no simmer mode necessary. For high repetition frequency regime, i.e., for repetition frequency of 20 Hz - 100 Hz, discharge energy 6 J - 18 J, liquid (distilled water) cooling necessary, estimated lifetime (2.5 - 10) x 10
    5
, simmer mode necessary. Data about the RLC discharge circuit and the trigger circuit: pulse duration T (at 0.35 of peak current) 90 us - 120 us (us = microsecond); charging capacitor voltage 600 V - 1200 V; simmer current 10
    -2
A; simmer voltage drop cca. 800 V; series trigger scheme; trigger voltage (in 100 kiloohm load) 18 kV - 24 kV; min. trigger voltage (in 20 kiloohm load) 10 kV; min. trigger pulse duration 1 us - 5 us; series coil inductance to have an almost damped RLC circuit (L = T
    2
/(9C), where L = coil inductance, C= energy storage capacitor capacitance).

Flashlamp intended for laser professionals or for laser hobbyists. Also as laser history collectible item.
