    Description

The set consists of 4 (four) pulsed xenon - filled, high energy, linear flashlamp to pump Nd:glass or ruby laser rods, type IFP 800, made in Russian Federation. The linear design assures the best pump efficiency in an elliptical pumping chamber, ideal for a large laser rod oscillator or amplifier. Discharge dimensions: 8 mm dia. x 80 mm length, ideally should match the laser rod size. Good for rods of 6 mm - 10 mm dia. and 75 mm - 90 mm length. Outside diameter 10 mm, total flashtube length (with electrodes) 300 mm. Anode end marked on the tube with + sign, cathode at the end with letters OTK. New, never used, vintage (years 70'), no original box (see the label from an original box, last picture). Maximum pump energy E
    0max
    = 800 J. Recommended capacitor: C = 540 uF - 660 uF (uF = microfarad). Working DC voltage V
    0
: min. 1,440 V, max. 1,760 V. Breakdown (self-igniting) voltage: min. 2,500 V. Trigger voltage: 16 kV - 24 kV (in 100 kΏ - 20 kΏ load). Trigger pulse length (at half amplitude): 1 us - 5 us (us = microsecond). Main discharge pulse length (at 1/3 of amplitude) T
    1/3
: min. 550 us, max. 650 us. Repetition frequency: in free air 1/15 Hz; in water 1 Hz. Recommended cooling flow rate: 5 - 8 liter/min, min. 20 mm diameter cooling jacket. Example of a working nominal regime (for near-critically damped discharge circuit): E
    0
    = 770 J; C = 600 uF; V
    0
    = 1,600 V; L = 67 uH (uH = microhenry); T
    1/3
    = 600 us.
