First is an 1821 Compend of History by Samuel Whelpley 5th edition, two volumes in one, leatherbound with gilt spine, 4 1/4 by 7 inches, very good shape with bumping to corners and minor wear to covers, owned by a Mary Weston. Sold together with an 1823 pamphlet entitled QUESTIONS ADAPTED TO WHEPLEY'S COMPEND OF HISTORY, also 5th edition, 4 1/4 by 7 inches, toning. A great pair, still together after 193 years!
